Hokko Masamune sake is a masterpiece with a unique character. This sake is produced by the Kadoguchi Shuzoten brewery, founded in 1869 and located north of Nagano in the snowy Japanese Alps. The daiginjo sake, with an alcohol content of 15% and a refined rice polish percentage of 39%, is made with 100% local Kinmon Nishiki rice from Kijimadaira Village, Nagano prefecture. The unique full flavor of Kinmon Nishiki rice spreads deep into the beautiful, refreshing aroma, soft texture and rich taste.
Michaël Borremans chose his work “Magnolia” (2016) for the label of this sake and worked with Japanese designer Rie Shimoda. Michaël Borremans, himself a sake enthusiast, has added a personal touch to this special edition by making Magnolia available. The original work is in the Hara Museum in Japan. Borremans has already exhibited many times in Japan and collaborates with the Koyanagi Gallery.
Aroma: Peach, green meon, pineapple, strawberry confiture
Taste: Very clear tasting. Although it is a Daiginjo, the aroma is not too strong and matches with a variety of dishes. Very elegant sake.
Serve: Cold or at room temperature
