Origin: Japan (organic)

  • 3gr/200ml
  • 70°C
  • 2-3 min infuse

The preparation process of this green tea from the Japanese province of Kyushu is similar to that of Sencha tea, but is picked later (third or fourth flush of the year). For sencha tea only the higher and more qualitative shoots of the tea plant are used, for bancha (ban / modest, cha / tea) the remaining leaves are used. This always results in a lower price. The riper leaves used for the bancha tea also contain less caffeine than the younger shoots of the sencha tea.

This coarse, light green flattened leaf produces a clear and light tea with a well-balanced and mild taste and a hay-like aroma. It is an accessible entry into the world of green tea.
Certified organic.

Some Tips

This green tea is also very refreshing after half a day in the fridge.
Tip for an original cocktail: add 180ml bancha tea (5gr 30 sec in 200 ml boiling water) to 30ml whiskey in a warm glass. If you don’t like to drink whiskey, you can also replace it with 30ml of rum and add a zest of lemon.
