Dong Ding oolong tea is originally from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province in China. This oolong tea is a medium fermented green tea that is roasted slowly repeatedly for several days. The result is tea with a robust taste and notes of roasted barley, caramel, honey and fried plum. The tea is lightly coloured and has a characteristic, unique sweet aftertaste. During processing, the oolong leaves are rolled very tightly so that the finished oolong looks like small balls. The color of the hand-picked leaves is deep green and results in tea that is bright golden. The tea has a rich aroma and the taste is soft, thick and lingers on the tongue and throat after drinking.

Some Tips

It is a nice idea to serve this Oolong tea in a glass jug, so that while drinking, you can enjoy the mighty spectacle of unfolding the small balls into large tea leaves.
