Gunpowder is a Chinese green tea from hunan province where all tea leaves are rolled up into small balls. This led to the name Gunpowder, because it looks like gunpowder, partly due to the gray-green color. This roll-up method is often used for green tea or oolong tea. The difference between green and black tea is in the production process. Black tea is longer oxidized than green. For example, you can say that green tea is purer and even richer in initial antioxidants.

This green tea presents very well in a glass jug like our Glossy or Modern Shape, because the leaves are slowly unfolding. A beautiful spectacle to dream away in.

Some Tips

This green tea is a classic to make Moroccan mint tea with. With the addition of our Nana mint, good water (without dry residue such as Spa,…) and possibly a little honey you get the best result. It is best not to let the Gunpowder tea steep for too long and pour it into another jug, so that it does not become too bitter in taste.
