Gyokuro Karigane

In Karigane or stem tea mixed with Gyokuro, the stems of the tea plant are harvested. A blend of the cultivars Saemidori, Yabukita, and Okumidori. The L-theanine mainly resides in the shaded parts of the tea plant, also in the stems — which makes this tea taste even more umami and sweet than regular gyokuro and contains even less caffeine.
